Part 2 Unit 6: Accessibility & Universal Design for Learning

Updated: Apr 27

I had a student who was doing really well in my class, and then at the end of the term, the student "disappeared" and did not complete the course. The data showed the student was not engaged or logging into Canvas. I reached out, and the student told me they lost their housing and could not focus on school until they were in a stable environment again. I asked the student to let me know when they could take the course again, and then I would move all their points into the new course so they could finish what was missing. They were able to do that and completed it with an A since they were actually a very engaged student. This confirmed for me that our student population has real physical and emotional challenges that the datat ponts are unble to show.
